Hey Sweet Friends,
I am Kris…or as my students called me Miss k!! I am the one blessed to have been the one to have been led to begin this journey.
I loved teaching…Sunday school, Women’s Bible study, Co-Ed Adult Bible study, regular ed, special ed, private tutoring and educating all 3 of our children from beginning until they all began college. I even was blessed to administrate two schools. I am blessed to have known so many many amazing students and made lifelong friends during this part of my journey.
As life began to change and I was working my way out of a job…homeschooling. I began caring for my parents at the end of their life. What a blessing and challenge all in one. But I wouldn’t change a day of loving them, knowing them, caring for them and helping in any way I could think possible. I have been blessed to have learned so much through all these parts of my journey.
All along the way since I was a little girl…I was always loved Jesus and I loved crafting. I came to know Christ as my Savior at 10 years old. I remember reading my children’s Living Bible until the spine wore out. (I still have that beautiful 1st gift of God’s Word.) I began this incredible journey with my Dearest Friend….Jesus. I was honored to serve in various ministries full time, part time and as a layman. Due to changes in my health, the Lord has blessed me with what I call a “grocery store ministry”. I LOVE meeting and talking of the things of God with all that I meet…in a grocery store, Starbucks, Target, restaurant and even in the airport or on planes…everywhere!!! God is sooooo good!!!
One of the Lord’s greatest gifts in my life was this need to create. Whether that was curriculum, scrapbooks, rugs, cloth, clothing for my children and even a little doll’s dress for a missions project for my church.
I remember needing to make a dress for a doll as a little girl for a missionary sharing project at church. I didn’t have a sewing machine or even a pattern. I did somehow have fabric, a needle and thread. I remember once finished I showed my Mom…she was genuinely surprised and encouraged. And to see her smile and joy in seeing my project…it was pure delight!! I encouraged her!!! What a blessing for such a small girl!!! I knew instantly that this was a gift from God and He had some purpose for it in my life. I also LOVED missions. I was blessed to serve as a mission coordinator at a small church in South Texas. I loved knocking on doors and meeting people…though painfully shy as I was. I LOVED telling others about Jesus…who I loved even beyond words at times. It was my passion for Him that gave me a voice. And even through the bumps of my life…I would cling to these two gifts from God.
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 (New American Standard Version)
Even when making my first doll dress for that missionary project
I praise God for the gift of Jesus and crafting!! And now I am even more blessed to study God’s Word, recording the journey and crafting in my Bible!! God is so good!!!
So here’s a few answers to the questions I have been asked:
I am a Christian wife and mother of three beautiful gifts from the Lord and retired educator. I love serving the Lord and studying the Word/Bible Journaling, time with my Sweet Husband, loving my children and their beautiful families (& a soon to arrive 1st granddaughter!!), time with good friends, teaching, nutrition, gardening herbs, fruits, veggies and flowers, reading, all kinds of crafting, writing, photography, cooking/creating healthy and tasty meals, all things vintage and lovely- something when you look at it…it tells you a story. I also love being birdie Mommy to my 4 cockatiels: Ginger n Rocky /Tweedy Bird n Batman. I love living in the country and enjoying the Lord’s miraculous creation!! I/we did own a spinning, weaving and sewing business store…online and it was also a brick and mortar store. This was our family’s little business. Another amazing experience and blessing from the Lord!!
